One of the oldest Churches in America, LBPC was organized on October 15, 1720,
56 years before the American Revolution,
and four years after the New Castle Presbytery was organized.

Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church
is located at the  corner of Old Kennett Pike and Rt. 52 in the Centreville area.  The mission of Lower Brandywine is to be a demonstration of God's Loving, redeeming and reconciling activities in our community and the world.

We are to be witnesses to the world of creation through Christ.  We are to tell the world the good news of salvation by the Grace of God through the only Savior, Jesus Christ.

Lower Brandywine's mission is carried out in obedience through the commands to love the Lord with all of our soul and strength and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

The ministry of Lower Brandywine is our real, tangible activity in our community which demonstrates obedience to our mission.  This ministry to members of our church, community and surrounding world is carried out by:

  • Proclaiming the good news of God's Word to all.

  • Nurturing believers by studying and applying the Word.

  • Sharing our love, resources and lives with all of God's children, using Christ as our example.

  • Strengthening the community of fellowship with our part of the Church universal through common prayer and worship.
